Burnt and stained

Just finished this vase, had a bit of seepage between colours when brushing on the sanding sealer, but I'm reasonably happy with it.

I will use a spray on sealer when using stains in the future.

They look good except for the bleeding as you already am aware of. The burning does go some way to prevent this. Spray sealer is good for this but again do so in very light coats or find one that is compatible with the stain. If it means using an acrylic sealer then remember that you will need to wet the vase and rub it down at least twice before the decoration is applied so that when the acrylic is applied it does not raise the grain.
