London Plain is massively under-rated.


My nephew is a tree surgeon down there, and the Councils etc. deliberately go out of their way to tell everyone that the wood is rubbish and no good for anything however, it's got gorgeous grain and if you manage to get "pippy" plain, it can be quite stunning.


Unfortunately, living in the far north of Scotland, it'd be rather expensive to get shipped up here, and I already have two huge slabs of sycamore in my store-shed, waiting to become my new computer desk!


I'd love to see some photos of what you get, both woods are favourites of mine.
