I was asked to make a bowl as a retirement present for the outgoing Chairman of Blind Veterans UK. & our own Neil Lawton kindly donated an elm burr. The bowl is 12”” diameter x 4” deep & is finished with sanding sealer & microcrystalline wax.
It was a challenge as I hadn’t turned a bowl I over 2 years & I felt like a new starter. I turned it mostly by feel. I had another pair of experienced eyes check it over before I applied the finish.
