No it hasn't Tony, in my opinion if they were to lose one ring and toughen up the remainder of the band then this pen would be up there for sure .. It just feels to flimsy ..

A well turned pen Jim. As for the centre band Like you I think that two would look better one on the cap and the other on the main body
