Joining the forum has inspired me to dig out an old box of mixed up pen kits & blanks given to me a few years ago by a chap who'd packed in turning.

This pen is made from an unknown burr blank, anyone care to hazard a guess as to what it is? The kit is I believe just a gold slimline.
