Evening all.

I am in the process of have new bushings made for the Alpha. I am not happy with the quality of the first batch. When the new ones arrive i will send out a new set to everyone who has had a set of the original ones.

If people cast their minds back to the launch of the OMEGA i had similar problems.

Thank you all for your understanding.

Cheers

Dan

i have to admit that the only set of bushings that I have had an issue with is your zeta ones dan- they seem too large to fit in the tube. may be me, but i have cleaned any glue out and it all looks clean. It isn't so bad with a single tube pen- I did as walter suggested and TBC

In fairness some of the zeta bushings have been too tight in the past. I am having these made as well.

is this from your local guy? might be a good move for you for the future, even though it is causing some stress in the present.

They will be made in China. This is down to the quantity and platings. Charlie is currently making my some titanium bushings to test. These should be considerably more hard wearing.

Dan this attention to detail is noted and praised by me the good bad and the not so good of trading at a distance must be a nightmare for you so lessening the impact after the event great courtesy IMHO.

i spoke to some one about what they thought about the use of titanium in the situation we are use it in and he said the wear resistance is amazing

As they had to be corrected on arrival the finish could be better and I would like to connection between the Bush and the tube to be more positive.

Just tried making my first ones of these - wasted the high gloss lacquer finish because the bushings wouldn't come out & had to grip the tube hard to bash them out with a transfer punch & hammer.

They are a little tight but now I know I will try turn / sand a bit away.

In the early days bushes, spacers were made of brass when Corian was first used I finished them with Tubed Brasso and the Brasso going black created merry hell with white Corian I can tell you so I used to make my own from Stainless Steel.

I was sad when Brasso discontinued tubed cream.
