Are there any tips or tricks to getting them to run a bit more concentric? For most cases just cleaning up the foot of a bowl it doesn't matter too much if it's running a bit off centre but sometimes it would be nice if things ran a bit better. I suppose it's asking a lot given the feet are rubber but I thought I'd ask just in case. I have a record power chuck and maxi jaws if it makes a difference. TIA.

If you have the centre dimple still, on the bottom of the bowl then line it up with the tailstock before you tighten the jaws.

Care needed with tension after alignment we tend to be too heavy handed but the answer will be in Woodies bag of tricks.

as well as aligning with the tailstock I also stick masking tape down the centre of each jaw to protect the top edge of the bowl (or candle stick).

+1 I rough turn quite a bit and always put a dimple in as that also helps truing up the blank for turning as well as being there for exactly the same reason as Peter and Terry
