in my case, it was almost certainly insufficient curing time. it was the same effect as the first CA finish that I ever tried, which was a matter of slapping plenty on! I must have effectively done the same this afternoon, with it not curing in between coats.

I am going to try some of the hampshire sheen that I have seen mentioned on here.
