Carved spoon from Apple wood

The last thing I did in the shed today was carve this wooden eating spoon from a piece of green(ish) Apple wood.
The spoon is based on a Viking age find from Fishamble Street in Dublin.

Well done, Chas, this looks like the real deal. A mate of mine from years ago dug up a similar one from the Thames (he was a licensed Mudlarker) and this was attributed to the Roman era.

I've known a few Viking re-enactors who have passed away over the last few years who have been buried in their finest Viking clothing and with their weapons and spears.
Now that will really confuse archaeologists on a few hundred years time :funny::funny:
