Camatillo, i believe it is called Paul, the pieces i have had were very straight grained which i believe helps it look darker .. Difficult to see the grain in this pen but well turned and finished my friend ..

That's right, Camatillo it is. Tho photo has come out rather dark, in the flesh the timber is a rich royal purple with black streaks and occasional thin streaks of overgrown yellow sapwood. Really classy material and a bonny looking pen.

Thats not good Brian, I hope she gets better soon. The CMM had the same thing I think... I just spent more time in the shed
