Only just Frankie, that will look amazing when you get it right.
I guess the knot isn't quite in the middle is why you say its failed.....me, I'd be chuffed with the one you've done :thumbs::thumbs:
The glue failed on the lathe had to glue it back and its not straight aswell as the knot not covering the wood design plus the segmenting is incorrect a learning curve.

Take a guess
Keep persevering Frankie, I've had so many failures this last couple of weeks but today managed to achieve what I`d been trying to do & suddenly it makes all the effort worthwhile.

OK Frankie. I will give you an 8 on this score. Only because it failed. The high score is because you are trying something that is very very difficult. That is to use metal as in infill. Now I am having somewhat of a problem following your methods. When you show the 2 blanks still in the squared up state I do not see any infill. What are you using and when are you applying??? What type glue are you using??? How did you get the two colors??? I might be able to help you if I have a better understanding as to what you are doing. Good luck and please keep trying.

As I said you are a brave person using metal as an infill. I have this blank made up sitting and ready for drilling but I am a little afraid. The grey matter is epoxy. But the material is aluminum and brass. Someday I will complete. There is some rings I want to put on the ends as well.

If at first you fail, try and try again.. :thinks:

If you have never failed at anything then you have never done anything..:goesred: or something like that..:face:

Well done, looks so close but might just be technique ..

Hi John,I used walnut and beech just cut 45 and glued with thick ca then just done a normal knot cut infilling with a sandwich of beer can and muntz metal but the over spill on the knot is because i think I shoul be doing it as a segmented peice.
