He wasn't happy with it~ then again he never is. I personally quite like it ~ however I'm biased. This was made by my husband ~ not bad for someone with Parkinson's Disease who turns with one hand whilst holding onto the end of the lathe with the other to steady himself. Health and safety would I'm sure not be happy with his tequnique ~ but he enjoys turning and I don't think the results are that bad even though I'm biased.

Pink Ivory, Lignum Vitae, White Box

Thanks to Doug and everyone else who has helped us with our knots over the last few weeks. Kind regards Fiona

Fiona I think that is amazing, my brother in law had to retire from work at 55 because of Parkinson's he cant even hold a cup of tea, he has to drink from a baby feeder.
It is so sad to see him become more debilitated every time time I visit, I do know how you both suffer with his illness this is a real achievement he should be so proud of it.
Thanks for showing such a wonderful piece.

Whats not to like. ???? It makes me feel so good inside that members here taken on a simple challenge and taken it to new heights. I would be proud to own that pen. First off tell your husband job well done and to keep turning out those fine works. Turning is such a great way to have some fun. Look forward to seing more. Thanks for showing.

You tell him we are not done yet. There will be more interesting designs to come.

Really brilliant Fiona, I'm sure hubby is too proud to accept anything less than perfect.. But what he is not seeing is that it is perfect. We are our own worse critic sometimes and don't see what others see.

Let hubby know that we are all waiting for the next ones now..

Take a guess
That`s a great effort & a very nice pen to boot

I`m my worst critic, I find that as I`ve made the piece I can "see the faults" that are more often than not not visible to someone viewing the piece, but I still know they are there & this leads to my dissatisfaction.

Fiona, that's a lovely pen by anyone's standards - tell your hubby to go straight back in the workshop and make more pens if he has nothing good to say about it!
