Tried my first Celtic knot inlay style… not brilliant result…but can only get better?

…or worse before it gets better?
Or am I doomed 🤪

Thanks, I think it’s because I used a scrap bit of wood ( not sure what it was) for the blank that has left me feeling unhappy about the pen overall. Pleased the inlay came out though😀

Nowt wrong with the knot Alex. Parallel turning is a tricky thing to master. You could try keeping the front part of your index finger (up to the knuckle) of the hand that supports the tool shaft, against the tool rest. It acts as a guide and I find it helps.
