Hi all thanks for the comments the knot is made from aluminium sheet about 3mm i used polyuathane glue as the last time I tried with super glue I all came apart will drilling the tube also rough up the sheet to give the glue a nice surface to bond to thanks again for your comments Terry

Haven’t tried it with alum sheet that thick? I’ve been using 0.2mm but think I’ll step it up a bit; that looks great👍🏼

if you use super glue with aluminium give it 3-4 days to really bond then you can drill it more easily. As with the pen below I use a piece of aluminium angle in this a few years ago i think it was 2mm thick
