I made this ages ago and have been using it as my everyday pen, so keep forgetting to photo it.

Maple and Purpleheart blank, kindly made for me by Alex (Bellringer)

Finished with friction polish and it is standing up being used everyday and chucked around in a laptop bag etc.

That's gorgeous! I really want to try this but can't without a bandsaw. :(

You can if you have a mitre saw but you will have to cut right through the blank I was making them a few years ago and that was all I used mind it dose take a bit longer waiting for one bit to dry before making your next cut

I did same dad with a mitre saw before I got my bandsaw but what I did was hot melt glue two blanks together, when I cut through they stayed together easy init.
Turn it round do the other blank two for the price one as it were, when finished chuck it in the oven helps it cure and separates the blanks from the glue simples init blud?

Oh and nice pen by the both of you above good to know the finish is holding up well.

Further explanation required ! I can't visualise how you're doing that, but I'm interested to have a go, now I have the mitre thingy from Dads.

Glue two blanks and cut through the one on top, the bottom blank holds it together while you laminate and glue up.
When dry turn it so the bottom one is at top and repeat process.
to separate the blanks place in a hot oven or microwave them off saves cutting.
Rejoin and do the other sides.
Hope I have explained it correctly?
