Hi all well I like a good challenge....I was contacted by Ray7756 as to my bullet pens....could a pen be made from
.22 250 cases??..... Challenge accepted!! He sent me a couple of cases to try and the results are below....
Normally with the .308 cases it's very straight forward as they will take a 7mm tube and are a good length....these are neither.....so drill out a bullet to take a cross refill and seat it, this now shows the length needed to make up about 9mm.....solution..... drill the base to take a 7mm tube and then chamfer....insert twist mech into a 7mm tube and solder into the case( if pushed home well it centers on the case chamfer).......refill sorted but I now have 9mm of brass tube exposed...... solution.... tube up a blank as normal but leave 9mm sticking out the clip end to mill off later.....turn to suit.....

For those not comfortable with a soldering iron I can confirm that 5 minute epoxy works just as well. The majority of my pens have been .22 as that is what I have most of but used the other sizes as well, all glued in with no problem and excess when needing trimmed just done with a Dremmel.
