Just finished this Cherry box with a Sapele band. Measures 5" tall and 3 1/2" across.

That's nice, very different.

How did you hold the lid ? Or am I being thick ?

You hollowed it out first right? Then shaped the top?

You hollowed it out first right? Then shaped the top?

I had a chucking point at each end before parting at the join. Turned the majority of the outside then the interior I used the base as a chucking point as it was a pop fit so as to complete the outside and the point. That is the very basic answer without going into a blow by blow account of turning the whole thing

Something that i have always liked Derek, boxes .. Love this tear drop shape my friend .. :thumbs: Must get back to making some of these myself .. :whistling:
