This Cherry came from a sizeable tree in a mates garden, most of it has split like buggery whilst drying as I've had it about 5 years but at least the split pieces can be cut up for pen blanks :banana::banana:

On a chrome slimline finished with Hutt wax.

Tried a black background for the first time, what do you think?

Been drying some Cherry blanks for about a year now, you've reminded me to check them ....

That is a nice piece of Cherry Doug, love the way you have started to use the coves in your pens also .. I remember saying to myself that i will try a few pens with this design after seeing Peter post up his styles .. :thumbs:

The black background looks good Doug .. :winking:

Lovely pen and well turned Doug. I like the black background but its a bit busy with a the other piece of wood too in my opinion.

Good pen Doug ....matte black maybe to stop reflection ?

Yep, the good lady said that, I`ll have to keep a look out for a matte black background, problem is, as I found when looking for this background, black shows up every mark. I tried a couple of black pieces of plastic but the camera seemed to magnify any mark on them :goesred:
