Cherry

This Cherry came from a sizeable tree in a mates garden, most of it has split like buggery whilst drying as I've had it about 5 years but at least the split pieces can be cut up for pen blanks

On a chrome slimline finished with Hutt wax.

Tried a black background for the first time, what do you think?

That is a nice piece of Cherry Doug, love the way you have started to use the coves in your pens also .. I remember saying to myself that i will try a few pens with this design after seeing Peter post up his styles ..

Yep, the good lady said that, I`ll have to keep a look out for a matte black background, problem is, as I found when looking for this background, black shows up every mark. I tried a couple of black pieces of plastic but the camera seemed to magnify any mark on them
