I spent a few hours in the shed today preparing some blanks and made this from an old oak chair leg

Kids Wand 20062015.JPG

It's about 11" (28cm) long. Would have been 12½” long but managed to get a catch and the last 1½” flew off.
Finished with spirit stain going from orange at the tip, through red and purple to black at the handle.
One coat of sanding sealer. Fiction polish and Microcrystalline Wax.

I don't have any magical skill. Tried to turn Sue into a Frog, but it didn't work :rolling: She's still a princess :frenchkiss::wink:

Very nice. Looks great. Might work if you get the unicorn hair in the middle somehow.

Great wand I bet someone will think it is magic. The only person in this house with any power is the old witch OOPS sorry wife and she can make money disappear:devil::funny::funny::funny:

Gandolph in traing the staining gave it a lift. One of our daughters was into frogs she received a full sized quilt from her Mum embroided in hundreds of frogs and the message you have to kiss a thousand frogs before you get a Prince.
