The Chinese have obviously been keeping an eye on the forum and after Brians threats to boycott them posted a description of some of their kits advertising them thus:

"Gold plating. These kits quality is some lower than our normal fancy kits but not belong to the Junked level. They are more suitable for the beginner to practice purposes with much cheaper price. We suggest you just ordering little quantity at the first time to better check and know more about the quality. Major defects: slight scrape or scratch on surface plating"

Even at under a dollar a kit i think they can stay chinese!

I had some gunmetal JR.gents from rizheng and they were full of scratches, had to photograph them to prove it, rizheng produce shite as well as occasionally getting some things okay. They said that most of their customers never make a complaint about the scratches. I told them that just because most of their customers will accept scratched kits it doesn't mean I will, maybe most of their customer are pile it high sell it cheap.

Bought a hundred of them in two batches and cant find a scratch on one of them Peter, - I'll complain, I'm being discriminated against.

Maybe they saved the scratched ones for me, their ethos seems to be we sell them cheap so expect problems.
