Afternoon,

Another crop of pens - Beaufort ink's Tempest this time. From the top, Grass-tree, Pippy Yew, Muhuhu, Tamboti,Grass-tree and Indian Rosewood.

The Tamboti pen Ive left bare to accentuate the fragrant aroma of the wood. Just in case the customer doesn't get it, I've collected a bag full of chips as well. (Just love salt & vinegar! ;-) ). The rest I've finished with Melamine lacquer using Phils method.

As always, critiques and comments please.

Thanks.

Fantastic set! (I just ordered a few of these kits to try for the first time. I just got very excited that I did so!) Nice selection and a wonderful reminder that it's time to start gearing up for the holiday sales season.

Very nice Chris mate. The grass tree is a new one to me

Thanks - but red faces in my direction. The first and fifth wood is actually Rewarewa - my mistake. There's a bullet pen in Grass tree in my other Christmas post though, and both are really stunning woods.

Thanks - and if you'll take a teaching point have a careful look at the fourth pen down - Tamboti. The barrel on the interface with the band looks undercut, but it's accurate with the bushes. If you measure the band its around 11.54mm, so on the rest of the pens I've cut the barrel band interface to match and I think it makes the pen look balanced. See what you think when you make the pens up.
