Really like this timber, again not sure what it is & it was only just big enough to make a slimline, if anyone can put a name to it I`d be appreciative as I`d definitely like to get some more.

I think I would call it Fred for want of a better name.
Once again the picture is a bit dark to tell for sure, I can say it's not plywood.
Had it been lighter in colour my guess would be zebrano.
I will be taking a piece to Woody's at the weekend for him to cut up and distribute as pen blanks so you should see some zebrano pens on here soon.

Thanks Woody I think your spot on, just googled Bocote & it looks identical, my photo makes the wood look lighter than it is, it`s much more like the google images. :thumbs:

Bocote would have been my second guess had the picture been a bit darker (wash your mouth out with soap you lying toerag) as my ol nan used to say:sob:

Forgot to mention about the pen, I like it nice shape nice finish nice wood whatever it is.

I love Bocote, it would be hard to guess as i find it more Yellowish than the picture ... Nicely turned pen Doug, i like the shape ... :thumbs:
