This one was a lovely piece of wood but there is something wrong with the kit as it won't screw up to close the join. I've tried it with other parts and it still won't close up. Damm!

Looks like you trimmed too much off the tube when squaring it.
Take a bit off the thread to condensate for it.
Lovely wood well finished other than that init?

You're not wrong there , that is a lovely piece of wood and nicely finished.

Can't offer any advice on the problem I'm afraid, never done any Cigars.

Sorted it. I ground a bit of the thread off and it was exactly the same but there is a shoulder after the thread which was stopping it going in any farther. I ground a part of that away and it fitted perfectly.

Its a bit disappointing really because I thought the cigar pens seemed to be very good quality and I like the way it all fits together and generally feels and looks like a quality item. I'm not going to let it stop me though and I will endure for a while longer with the cigar which I think is a lovely pen to hold and the size, shape and weight give it a feel of class... we'll see.

Unfortunately it wasn't the mechanism or that I'd trimmed the barrel too much Woody it was the fitting itself.
