Looked at the workshop manual it only has a 1/2 hp motor for a biggish lathe. Variable speeds 10 operated by a handle suggesting variable speeds obtained by a variable pulley.The headstock swivels. Noted to sources may be more the last one Axminster there called AWSL900, No idea of price lots to look into.

I once many moons ago I purchased a clark lathe set it up tried it dismantled and took it back all in an hour the biggest load of rubbish I have ever seen never again
