Just made (well tried) to make a Classic Elite Fountain Pen for the first time, the Instructions show 7 mm bushings and there are 7 mm bushings in the kit, fine of I go without checking the tube size, drill the blanks with a 10 mm drill glued the tubes in to the blanks put it all on the mandrill started turning almost done got a break though to the copper tube one end :thinks: Had to scrap that blank started again with a fresh blank then it dawned on me :goesred: 7.mm bushing into a 10 mm tube :sob: had to pack out the bushings to fit the tubes started again, finished not too bad I thought. Started to assemble the pen you name it it all went wrong and to cap it all the thread on the cap would not screw on to the body without cross threading :sob::sob: so into the bin :vangry: first and last Elite f/pen I will make.
Thought would share this as i am not sure that this was a good kit to use and a warning to others, It may have been me just having one of those days :sob::sob:

I made 4 of them and all the threads felt like someone had put a handful of sand in there, even to the touch they were dreadful. I just gave them away.
