After sanding and before applying CA glue, do you clean your blank to remove dust.

This isn't a problem when I use BLO but I don't use it on all types of wood, just the ones that look like they need help to bring colour out a bit.

I think I read somewhere someone uses acetone ...

Is there a preferred method ?

Cheers

a quick blast with compressed air or a wipe with a tack cloth. I use BLO on most of mine though, in which case I dont bother.

Hi, Brad,

I use white spirit - this not only removes the dust but also pops the grain to reveal the detail, if any.

Seal it before sanding. dust off with a pure bristle brush then seal again.
Lots of people use sanding sealer, waste of money in my book.
Poundland super glue diluted X 3 with acetone works for me init?

Two things are apparent one remove any dust particles using Meths or denatured alcohol also raises the grain necessitating another light sand good practice anyway, then to bring out the grain a light stain or boiled linseed oil or french polish some thoughts. I will look for some examples of a mates work he does these things you be the judge.

A quick pic of some of my mate Eugenes work he always uses meths to clean down everything depends how far you want to go. David Timberbits only sands to 400 grit his finished work is incredible.

I like using compressed air at the finish and really like using the filters on my compressors essential thing Mark.
