Hi all!
I recently got a big (I mean big) parcel containing I don't know how many aussie blanks. Thanks to the forum and to Buckeye who sent it !
I already made a pen with some blanks; you can see it here.
But I need you help for identifying the woods, I am not familiar with them. Here is the whole set:

I can recognize brown mallee (bottom right) and red mallee (middle right), at least this is what I suppose.
But the others are a mystery for me.

Top row, left, various woods, I think I see a tigre myrtle and some blackwood (Why the hell do Aussies call blackwood a wood that is not black???):

Top row, middle, some orange-like wood, quite light :

Middle row, left : some red wood rather light too:
100_1081.jpg

Bottom row, left: a very attractive heavy pink burl, some cracks, and some wood that could be the same tree but with no burl, sometimes flammed:

Thanks for your help!

If you don't get them ID'd drop Shane a PM at AussieBurls, he should be able to say which burls were included and that should help to iD.

Thanks you all for your help.
Shane, you answered many questions. Just a last one: honeysuckle is the banksia tree, isn't?
Peter, your instrumental grade plank is stunning! I dream of a pen in this quilted wood, X-cut at 45°! And your explanation or the name blackwood is illuminating. I shall never laugh at Aussies any more, I swear. :yo:
