Clutch Pencil kits

Anyone know of a clutch pencil kits, i have found one but at £22.00 it's pretty expensive.

There's the Beaufort Mistral Ken. Still quite expensive, but it's a lovely kit even if I do say so myself, and the point about it is that it keeps on working. Although it's a twist action to operate it, the mechanism inside is actually a clutch mech

Another option open to you.....i have used Phils pencil refils in a Sirocco and i do really like them. You have to twist the cap both ways and it advances and holds the lead or if you just twist one way you can push the lead back in for storage...

If you go for the double beaded I believe that’s a Day on kit. (Check with them first tho)

I have used the data on kits for quite a few years and they are good and can be modified easily.

I had to google clutch pencils but i believe a search for tool box pencils will return something similar as long as you want the ones with the thick leads

Tool box pencils are another one yes, but if you search toolbox pencils then that is all you will get.

However, If you search for "pencil kits" then you will find out quite a few more will turn up.

Slimline pencils have been around for well over a decade and use the .7 &.5 mm leads.

The toolbox pencil kit uses a larger lead, (can't remember of the top of me head) much the same as the artists pencils use a large 5.6 mm leads.

The pencil modifications for the Parker refills that Phil sells are recognised as being very good for converting standard Parker type pen kits.

Yes they are nice pencils. I should have added that they must have a 2mm lead. I do have a workshop 5mm pencil but that is no good.
I want to do scaled drawings for different projects and need to have 6 or 4h leads for outlining and maybe an hb as well.
I have not found a programme for a Mac I can get my head around for easy use.
I used to have one for pc comp, it was brilliant, produced very good scaled drawings.

Clutch pencils have a collet at the end to hold the lead, you depress the other end and the lead just comes free. The biggest thing is it must be for a 2mm lead that way different leads can be swapped over in seconds. They are the same as the workshop pencil except with a 2mm lead not a 5.5mm lead. I can't believe there are no kits for these.
I suppose draughting pencils are a thing of the past now.

I think you will find that the draftsman mainly used .5 if I remember rightly.
