Its a lovely pen, but I'd put my bottom dollar that it aint Cocobolo!! Are you sure that it isnt Bocote? Cocobolo is dark red and black if grown in Mexico turning towards Orange the further south through Central America that you travel.

Yes I agree, I was being lazy and used my tree stump, trouble is it is wet after all the rain and looks quite black.
