You're right, cocobolo is expensive and it will get more expensive as it gets rarer. The Americans have managed to get it listed in CITES as a response to the Chinese demand for it and all South American woods, Goncalo Alves is almost impossible to get fresh stocks of. The Chinese are buying anything that illustrates their status, since they binned Mao's little red book that said thou shall not express or display materialistic wealth, they buy anything that anyone else in China doesnt have. The main timber merchants are quite despondent about the situation. If you can afford it stock pile it!
