That is spot on La. Very nicely turned and finished. The more pens you make the easier it gets... so I've been told :funny:

It certainly is not you, the slimline is as challenging as any pen, the reason for starting on slimlines is not because they are easy but because they are the cheapest option.
They don't break the bank for a starter, when you master this kit you can do any other kit.
Probably the easiest kit is the sierra but they come at a price difference that could put you to begin with.
You have done a great job on this one nice lines good combination of kit and wood lovely finish and good picture quality.
Go to the top of the class young man 10 out of 10 for this effort.

Nothing wrong with that one !

The one thing I would say is why do you think so many of us put some shape into slimlines :bwink:

Nowhere does it actually say they are Straightlines now does it ?

But that's not to say that they can't be straight and I think you've done a cracking on job on that one, it's very straight. Well done.

Nice pen Roy but in my opinion it would look better with a bigger centre band, that's only MY opinion though.

As far as I'm concerned Roy that's how a Slimline should look . Some look OK with a tiny bit of curvature to them but some folks go overboard and the pens look like they've had gastric band surgery. You done a good job there. Also Slimlines aren't the easiest pen to turn ...master a Slimline and the rest are easy..... well most of 'em !

Nice on Roy. Slimlines are a good skill builder as making a curved pen is way more easy than keeping it straight. You've made a good job of this one sir!!!:thumbs:

Lovely looking pen Roy. As Phill says try and put a few shapes into it !!

I disagree with you a Terry, I think Roy has got them spot on mate.. If he can turn them out and make them look as good as that then stick to the winning formula..

Top marks as per Brian has said, it looks superb and I believe making it fatter would not have made it look any better.

Looks good Roy. Experiment with different shapes to see what you like and more importantly potential customers ;ile.

I think you misread what I said Eamonn. I said it was a lovely pen and as Roy had thought it was difficult to keep the barrels straight then he could maybe try putting a few shapes ( curves ) in. You never know Roy might prefer it that way. !!!!

Roy, you have turned a slimline, as it was meant to be!
Well done that man!
If I wanted a string of Sausages, I would visit a Butcher!
What you have to remember is most turners on here are very, very, old. ( my 32" belt still fits my 48" belly!):funny:
This is a great result.
