I've got Jr Gents from Australia and from China and decided to make a pen from each to see if I could tell the difference. One is in Elm and the other Bubinga can you tell the difference?

With the last photo if you focus on the nearest pen you will have more chance of getting both in focus.

When you're as pissed as I am, you'd be lucky to focus at all :funny:

Thanks Peter

I never noticed until you mentioned it Woody. Its probably due to being too heavy handed on the vice.

No mine were sinking in before the nib end had gone right home the barron dose exactly the same personally I think it is better to spend a bit more on Dan's new kit I for one wont be buying any more J/G or barron kits ever again

I've still got a dozen or so Jr Gents, I'll have a look at why they do that Woody. I like the shape of the pen and I've only just received my first batch of Barons so I've gotta do those as well now.

Did you say you got one from China and the other from China via Australia?

The Elm came from China and the Bubinga from Timberbits.

What ever country made the kits makes no difference here - for my money that beautiful elm wins it all! Well done, Paul!

Bob.
