For those of you following the covid 19 events in Europe and its progression you may wish to be aware that France has extended its confinement (lock-down) to 15 April, this suggests that the UK may follow suit since the pandemic has moved northwards from Italy at a fairly regular pace. Hopefully I will be wrong but I'm not too sure.

I don’t believe that France has ever been a model for the British to follow but we’re already in a twelve week stay at home period so the French are a bit late. :whistling:

I'm not too sure you can say that they are late since I said that they have extended it, they were in fact 2 weeks ahead of the UK, not only that you don't have justification certificates to allow you to go out yet where if you dont carry one you get a 135 euro fine for the first offence rising to 3200 euros or 6 months gaol for the 4th offence.

Here is the english version of the form:

Serious times but I think you’re worrying too much Pierre, all too soon the yellow vests will be out on french streets again gibber gabbering to themselves and polluting their own atmosphere by burning car tyres! :funny:

Stay safe Mates! Have been on Asthma medication for 55 years. I take care with my shop dust collection/ventilation and proper breathing safety protocol. Now need to transfer those thoughts for the restricted foray for groceries - and only if truly needed.

My wife and I "should" recover in good shape if we get the virus, but we assist in the care of my in-laws (both 94 and very frail). If we pass something to them the prognosis would not be good; to say nothing of the resultant guilt if we did not take precautions. I've always tended to plan for the worst and hope for the best.

Best regards, Mark

Which border?
Thought you went to Alice Springs which is in the same state as Tennant.
Or am I missing something?

Phil

I am in south Aust for dads funeral, fortunately we were allowed to see him before he died, hospital total lock down, nursing home one visitor per day 1/2 hour visit only in persons room. funerals a max of 10, but may be changed to nil very soon.
Dont plan a wedding.

Wanted to pick up some supplies from bunnings hardware so much is out of stock.
Did manage to get can of spray bog, and the last tin of bog in the shop.

I am sorry to hear about your dad (wm460), and I every thing turns out OK for you and your family, an for everyone else no matter which part of the world you live in. Things are getting bad at this point in time, I just hope it clears up soon, and we all get our lives back in some order.

Sad for you and Cherie at this time Mark I presumed recently you remarked on standby while you car was being serviced. No short adventure from your place either. A son in law of ours works in Melbourne two states away from his home here as an area manager if he returns home he is in automatic isolation for two weeks and on his return another two weeks. So I am guessing you have a period of isolation waiting for you both on return.

Sorry to hear about your dad Mark. Our first taste of what biological warfare would be like anew way of life for a while I’m afraid. Stay safe everyone. It’s a time of pulling together, whatever happens no government will be 100% right or 100% wrong. We must all hope for the best.

Thank you every one for your kind thoughts.

Mum and Dad just recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, received their letter fro the Queen.

The hospital they they are, is totally lock down, if you need to go to Hosp, you have to go to next town.
The N/ home was one visitor per day 1/2 hour visit only in persons room, I guess is totally lock down now.
Last Thurs there was max 50 at funerals, Fri max 10, Sun max 2.

Coming home once we crossed the border, we went through 4 road blocks, last one was manned by federal coppers. One them told me I was lucky to come home now as From midnight on Wednesday, all domestic arrivals will be required to undertake the same forced quarantine measures currently in place for international arrivals, would be required to pay for their accommodation and food, which would amount to about $2,500 per room. "You'll be made to stay where we tell you to stay, but you will pay for it, not us. "We have given you enough notice."

We are about to see if China will have a resurgence in covid 19. Wuhan residents have been released from quarantine. The news showed a mass exodus from the city.

We are in week 4 of lock down. Lock down to continue until the end of Apr. I only go out for therapy. I don't see an end until a vaccine is available.

Yes here in France they are now talking about confinement till beginning May. At least they have the justification forms as a PDF on the phone now. Also to come to France or leave France they have now invented another justification form along with a 14 day entry quarantine.
