Yesterday I set out to correct two problems with my Daewoo Leganza it has been a great car for us from new in 2001 a year or so back a firm fitted two front tyres gave the car a wheel alignment, for this intervening period the car has wandered to the right so I rang the dealership 7.45 am the manager Steve said bring it in which I did within the hour. I thought the front brakes may be worn so I said do the brakes, new pads skim the disks.

I left the car came home picked up the old Mercedes set out to acheive two major things for me I made a diversion to a mates business I remembered he was really into watches a collector he put me onto a watchmaker jeweler retired who has boxes of mechanical watches etc (for bits for pens) as I came out a guy from behind called me by name it was Steve the car bloke he said brakes are great they would spend time on the alignment etc. Off I went again then around lunch time I drove to Steves and lo and behold the car was ready to go he was happy now with it. We swapped stories and I said what do I owe you he said zero how incredible, I thanked him and first thing this morning I gifted him this pen with my repeated thanks he was stoked. The power of a pen.

This is the pen I gave Steve.

Yes it does in a way Jim being an avid collector of Brown Mallee I have learnt that this timber found and collected in various parts of Australia gives a huge variation in colour and conformation I had this intention (wont happen now) to do a series of pens showing the variations the one I like best had lots of black in it from near the Sth Australian border. According to my Burl Gatherer mate sometimes there are years where they just cant access the areas where it frequents ie when you have long years of boggy paddocks.
