couple of slimlines on unknown wood

don't know what the wood on either of these is as not marked o the blanks, the darker one was a two tone wood on the blank but lost all the pale wood when turned,unknown wood on silver slimline.jpgunknown wood on silver slimline2.jpg both finished in 10coats CA and BLO

A lovely couple of pens there. Unfortunately I can't help you either on the wood. Neil will be along soon :thumbs:

At a guess, the top could be Blackwood, i say this because of what you say about turning away the pale wood .. The second again a guess with either Cherry or Mulberry, i have some Mulberry that shows similar characteristics to the red stripe seen in this wood .. :nooidea:
