Pen and pencil set. Stabilized, dyed xcut cherry. One dyed red and one dyed blue. I think these blanks show promise so I will make some to test the water.

The photo is a bit small, but what I can see looks nice.

Cross cutting is the way to go to add interest to otherwise plainer looking woods. I love the cross cut Laburnum Woody kindly gave me, and I must try the cross cut oak Billy sent me. Thanks for showing, I'll have to try doing some more cross cutting.

Like them both Terry. Never been a fan on dyeing wood but is becoming an area which I feel I must have a go at.

Terry, they both look gorgeous. I'm going to have a go at stabilising in the new year. And if i can get anywhere near as good as these, I'll be happy:thumbs:

I love them both Terry and neither are obviously stained. I really like the affect the blue has in the variety of colours it produces.

How is this size?

Much better, but it would be better if they had been horizontal for laptop users, but better bigger than smaller, it really show the detail and they do look great and more spectacular than normal cut cherry.
