gold fittings on dark wood or black fittings

Light wood dark fittings

Its a good question Steve and a dilemma I have every pen I make. I hold the various fittings up to the finished blank to see what I thing suits it best and usually one stands out as being the right one.

I agree with Paul, some colours of woods and acrylics seem more suited to one plating or another. I've done some pens where a black pen went best. Also if a pen is an order I make it according to the customer preference

I normally use gold on light wood and chrome on dark although like Doug I'm not enamoured with gold.

I tend to use more black accents with light woods Steve, using Paul's method i am sure you won't go wrong .. :thumbs:

Chrome seems to sell better but at the end of the day its all down to your own personal taste

Always a choice to be made after the blank is ready for its parts for me, unless someone has asked for a specific plating of course.
