Do you cut the threads on the lathe or do you have taps and dies?

It depends on the pen. Mostly, I use taps and dies (M10 x 0.75 & M12 x 0.75) Though I also cut external threads on the lathe if I want to avoid the thread relief, as you will tend to find a die won't be able to cut threads right up to a shoulder.
