Cant speak for all Aussies but the rub is we buy metric use metric, imperial we buy from the great USA also interesting the USA folk have a devil of a job buying metric even though our metric drills from them are made in the USA. Both metric and imperial other drills are freely available. Choices and preferences remind me of buying tyres so many swear by their choices. A while back the type 2 drills went off the market now back individually packed.


Reckon whatever floats your boat in everything, must admit to banging on about the DeWalt stuff for many many years now.
