Just read the list they do not cover much at all. But I see no mention of wood. It would have been a shorter list if the listed all items they do cover

Never Again please let everyone know. I wanted to still have a go at them but I have given up as my wife has asked me to as I have been quite ill with it and she doesn't want me to go back into depression again which last time lasted 2 years.

Life is a long round of opposition with insurance dodgers, compensation lawyers etc things that were always honoured are being removed from the meaning of. Its a minefield. My sympathies.

So true, I have learnt the hard way. It makes you wonder if you should tell the truth I now know why people don't tell the truth on claims. At least I can sleep at night why should we lower are standards.

I gave up using Hermes ages ago. Terrible service. Now I stick to the original and the best - the Post Office. Great for parcels up to 2kg in weight, reasonably priced. If your parcel is over 2kg, just split it into two separate parcels - simples! Compensation is never an issue because nothing ever goes missing. Plus you can go speak to your local branch, no communicating with a call centre in India.

I can't see how they can just dismiss your clain, pay you less because they don't cover the certificate but the wood still had a value & as someone pointed out wood is not on their exclusion list.
Your wife has the right idea, forget about it & put it behind you, can't change whats happened & it's just not worth damageing your health for.

I agree with you, also Parcelforce have been OK, the best for me is DPD you get what you pay for

There's no mention of wood but that wood was over 100 years old and not covered for that reason. Quite ridiculous nevertheless.

I know you have this sorted now.
Just wondering if you have any thing like Consumer Affair in Aust?

"Consumer affairs is an established system or entity formulated for the protection and safeguard of the consumer or purchaser of goods and/or services. It protects consumers from fraud."
