Hi all,I purchased these digital calipers from Amazon a couple of weeks ago.Brand is Neoteck.Although they come from China I am very impressed, the rule and jaws are hardened stainless steel and the body is alloy.Although the screen is not backlit the numbers are very easy to see.Accuracy is very good,I have checked and they are spot on.What I really like is they can measure in fractions of an inch eg 11/32" in 128th inch increments as well as metric and decimal inches. They have an auto on/off and will show previous dimension when switched off and turned on again.Build quality is very good and should last well. The calipers come in a plastic(what else)box and are supplied with a spare battery, screwdriver for battery removal and you even get a set of feeler gauges. If you are considering a digital caliper I would seriously consider these. At just under £20.00 they have got to be a snip.

All the best,
Geoff.

One can buy a Moore and Wright digital callipers for £27, from Amazon, or £26 from fleabay. Had mine for five years, never had any trouble from them. Has standard CR2023 cell for power.

These are very useful, and are also quite well made and accurate.

However, they eat batteries very rapidly. Keep a supply of spares on hand.

Batteries in my 30 year old Mitutoyo’s last ages. Sadly cheap callipers can get through them quickly. I’m still looking to get another cheap one for the workshop.

I used to buy packs of 10 batteries on fleabay, they were cheap but didn't last as long as good brands, a couple pair of my callipers are no auto off and some bugger in my shed forgets to turn them off when he has finished with them.
