Distraction turning

I've got quite a few bits to do but want none of it at the moment so just turned this.
The bark had had it and there was a straight cut on an upward branch so a bit of reshaping and pyro was in order!

Sorry, it's cherry from the trunk / branch junction, 5" high x 7" at the widest point. Finished in chestnut finishing oil.

Fake bark Neil, whatever next?

I have come back to this about 5 times now. The fake bark doesn't interest me as much as the wood itself, and I realised that this is why I don't like painted wood, after all nature does such a nice job in just creating such a beautiful figure and when it is shaped into a nice form it become so much nicer since you can see the inside as well.
