Using my Dremel today at a slow speed started to get very very hot rubber side next to motor coil started bubble up :goesred: stopped it, let it cool down took out brushes they looked fine replaced brushes and ran it at a slow speed with no load on it still got hot, took apart and cleaned all the air vents (not very blocked) reassembled ran with no load again started to get hot again and it stopped never to go again :vangry::vangry: Has anyone had this problem? and is worth buying a new one?,

I still have my original Dremel and have had no problems with it. It does get used on the odd occasion now as I have the Axi hanging system with the drill and carving heads

My earliest one had sleeve bearings and it just kept on doing a great job for many years easily doing everything I could want. I have four including the 400 model. I can,t fault mine. It pays to start them on a slow speed. Never had Proxxon to compare the two. Over here the Dremels are cheap and good.

Had a 2950 for nearly twenty years before it gave up the ghost.
I bought a 4000 which blew up on turn on but have had the replacement for about 8 years now. I bought two Proxxon drills with stands for the school when I worked there. Both bu##ered up just out of warranty.
