Went away for a weekend a couple of weeks ago and picked up a couple of pieces of driftwood off the beach. Wanted to see if it was possible to make a couple of pens out of it.
This is how it turned out, super glue finish, as it was sooooo soft and a Cigar pen kit.
Pretty pleased with it as I didn't think the wood would stay in one piece.

A very nice pen Mark. The drift wood is really nice and goes well with the pen kit. Some drift wood can be a bugger. I have found worms in some and the wood just exploded on turning.

I have never tried turning driftwood and understand that it may be tough to turn due to its soft nature. You did a remarkable job and made a stunning pen. Good job.

With softer wood, like driftwood can be at times, I will give the wood a good coat of CA glue after I get most of the excess wood off and get halfway to the profile I want. This seems to add some stability to the wood.
