They have a split point and that's what I use on my drill bits, the cutting is definitely faster, cooler and easier than normal chisel point drill bits.

I don't have any problem using cheap uk drill bits and a few of the DeWalt Extreme 2 bits which aren't very expensive. I couldn't/wouldn't justify spending stupid money like that on something that isn't necessary. I notice that they haven't got an 8mm drill. Are they Zeta'ist :funny:

I can't think of the last time I paid for a drill bit, or needed to, and wouldn't pay those prices if I did.

It is an interesting drill bit. On one video I saw, it claimed that a standard drill would be sharp for 200 holes and yet 1 of these good for 2000. That brings the whole lifetime price down a bit. Not cheap still but if they work well, the cost will be forgotten after the first few blanks.

I am going to try a couple and see if they are as good as they state. In the grand scheme of things, a couple will cost me the same as a skew, so if they last no longer than a standard bit I won't have lost a great deal. I need to find a uk source or a few more things to make the German postage worthwhile.

I have received these drills in the original link this week and tried one of them out. If you are ordering from the supplier, they are well worth trying. I have only drilled a few holes, but absolutely no breakout on the far end of holes at all. I cant comment on longevity yet, but they were sharp enough to nick skin on arrival if not handled carefully. They drilled far more easily and quickly than any other bits I have used. Expensive, but not prohibitively so, especially if they last as claimed.
