I delivered the pen for the girl that had trouble griping a small pen and her mother who has the same illness mentioned that she'd like one too so here is a Thatchers dumpy fitted with streamline belt and braces. Finished with 15 layers of ca and then autoglymed.

Now perhaps I can get on and have a play with my machine.

Good on ya mate. Things like this are close to my heart as my eldest lad has aspergers, which affects his fine motor skills and grip strength. He bought a tear to me eye the other day, as he wants us to make him a pen together for school, as the one's commercially available are terrible in the fact of how obvious they are. Fair play mate !!!!! now get on that cnc, and enjoy!!

I feel like I'm giving a little back when I make something like this Brody. My daughter was diagnosed with diabetes when she was 3 years old and we had to start injecting her 3 times a day. My world collapsed at the time, my perfect little girl having to inject for the rest of her life. We had some great help from lots of people from all backgrounds and this is one of the reasons I want to help others as much as I can.

I feel very sorry for your son as he needs to fit in with everyone else and doesn't want his illness to make him stand out. Making a pen together will remove all that stigma attached to bought pens.... but dont' make it from a car exhaust eh :funny:

That is really great pen Paul.
It's worth loosing time on the cnc especially when you are doing such a special pen for someone that has difficulties in life through no fault of their own.
Well done..

Just reflecting there was a time when a certain person who became a Baroness would have personally escorted anyone to the Tower Of London following the title Dumpy Thatchers I have already expressed my good thoughts for your pen mate should be time next week for the postie out your way I trust.

Kind regards Peter.
