I've used a dusting brush on my hand tools for years it was an old emulsion brush that if I'm honest had seen better days but the thought of paying £14 for the Lie Nielson version https://www.classichandtools.com/acatalog/Lie-Nielsen-Toolcare.html was a step too far.

So when I was over at a painter mates the other day I saw this,

Which got the grey matter stirring, so after carefully holding the brush in the lathe chuck & truing up the ferrule I turned a piece of Padauk & came up with this.

Finished it with a couple of coats of Shellac sanding sealer & gave it a whirl.

My hand planes have never been so dust free :whistling:

Made one with the same brush and an Ash handle about 2 years ago Doug !!! LOL:face:

I best throw mine away & pretend I never made it :phew:

Lovely bit of wood, nicely turned and finished and matches the brush really well :thumbs:

I might have a go at one of these :thinks:

If I can get enough shed time, which is mighty little time recently :rolling:

Doug the inventor designer handle specialist and I,m with Woody a paintbrush in many stations around the workshop. Whenever I see a special I buy a few.
