After just over a year of pen making using acrylics, I stuck to my 2021 resolution and finally made one from wood.
Well... almost...
This is stabilised Maple Burl that was dyed purple during the stabilisation process. (Sorry to the purists on here, but baby steps and all that).
I know it is possible to make pens entirely from wood, as some of the very talented members on here have done. However I have used acrylic for the threads, and the wooden section is really an acrylic section with a wooden sleeve, (see final picture). I have done this in the past with old cellulose which had been pre-drilled, so used the same approach and it came out pretty well.
Finished with my usual process but I dry sanded it (as oppose to wet sanding). And thats pretty much it.
Cheers
