Without a proper identification, I'm deeming this wood to be Elm Burr, on a Concava

A lovely pen well turned and finished Paul, i particularly like the top tube parallel.

Steve.

Thanks Steve, Woody made a few with the recommended concave and then a few with it parallel. The parallel won hands down so thats how I'm making them.

That is a lovely pen Paul well made finished and presented but if that is Burr Elm then I am a Dutchman.

Dat is alles wat ik te zeggen heb over het onderwerp.

Alex,

definitely not Elm Burr. Absolutely certain this is not Elm Burr, never was, never will be, defo never. There is no Burr in it. Looks like Ash noburr. Fraxinus excelisor,

I think you're right Neil, Olive Ash looks like it. The lump I've got is a burr so maybe as I get into it the burring will become apparent.
