I drilled these out then we went out to the pub for dinner on returning I went out in my workshop to make up 2 rollerball pens and 2 fountain pens Well the fun began when the bushes wouldn't fit in the working end so still happy a little bit of reaming and away we go all turned ready to fit together first one the tail end just fell in then out none of the parts were a good fit second one same problems plus the two half's wouldn't screw together also one clips were bent so half a pot of ca job done and they do look good well sort of made with brown mallee and Yellow box burr with a polish finish

Woody,

Yes, I agree they DO look good, thanks to your skill, but still won't be buying any after what you've told me. Shame!

It is difficult to see any issues with these finished pens Woody, maybe a lesson to newbies that to never give up and keep that blank on the lathe and not the bin .. Quality looking pens ...

Are these from the bulk batch you bought Woody?:thinks:

They look good Woody and the turning is excellent. I have only made one which I posted and I have another one to make but after that I won't be buying anymore as they are a cheap imitation of a Majestic or Roman Harvest!!!

I rest my case Milud all kits are crap, just some are worse than others.
Been saying it for years, someday people will listen and stop buying them until the manufacturers get their act together.

I for one would be interested in your findings Terry cos I have not been impressed with the Majestic?

I have to be honest Steven I just compared one with a roman Harvest and they are a bit bigger and I think they look just a bit better as well so it isnt that bad after all and Violet prefers them to the R/H so not all is lost they will go in my wood collection
